It is also active in your tasklist if you are using IPhone. Since ITunes is used to sync the Iphone or load files on to it, ITunes is the install that has activated this process and its purpose is to sync up with your IPhone. Recommendation:
To keep this process or remove it, it's down to the users' requirements. If you do not have an iPhone or an Apple TV, then you do not need this service to run in the background at every Windows boot-up. Otherwise, if you do have an iPhone, or an Apple TV that you will want to interface with iTunes, then leave this service enabled.

Necessary to sync iPods and iPhones in iTunes. Otherwise, it's a hassle. You can probably get rid of it by going Start->Run->input "msconfig" and press enter->Services. It shows up in there and you can enable or disable it from there.

But, I think it's useless when you didn't use any apple mobile devices. And I know that this process can appear, but when I turn on Glary Utility. This process doesn't show up or quickly disappear several times. I guess Apple want this process behind your awareness

I do have an iPod and use it fairly regularly, but whenever I turn my computer on, this activates as well, using almost 100% of my RAM until I manually end the process in my task manager. Is there any way to keep it from starting by itself?
