Symantec Snapshot Service. Service installed by Noton Ghost. This is a core service of Ghost for Windows, wich enables Ghost to take copies of your hard disk, or backups of specific directories, even when files are open. It does this by using the inbuilt Volume Shadow Copy feature of Windows XP/2003/Vista/2008. Norton Ghost will not work without this service running. It's default startup mode is 'Manual' and will be started when you manually run Ghost or when a scheduled backup needs to run. (Source: The Ultimate Troubleshooter from AnswersThatWork.com) | |||
