Item Name: AlcxMonitor File Name: Alcxmntr.exe
Usefulness Rating:

Recommendation:
The Alcxmntr.exe process is not an essential file to the computer system. It is a user invoked program and a normal part of PC operations. You can disable it or even remove it from the system startup list in order to save more resources and speed up the system boot. If you need to use Event Monitor from Realtek AC97 audio, you can launch it manually from the "Start" menu or other shortcuts.

Realtek AC97 Audio - Event Monitor - used to surreptitiously monitor one's actions. It is not a sinister one, like remote control programs, but it is being used by Realtek to gather data about customers

Gathering data is not necessarily bad, but any company doing that should get permission from the user before watching him/her. Without permission it is spying; no different than a peeping Tom. Perhaps more sinister because you can see someone at the window but not a program in the internal part of your computer.

I disabled this and had no problems... but have no explanation for what it is. As previous entries say; may be customer data program. I may delete this entry, but for now I keep it disabled.
