Recommendation: | |||
The BIGFIX.EXE process is not an essential file to the computer system. It is a user invoked program and a normal part of PC operations. You can disable it or even remove it from the system startup list in order to save more resources and speed up the system boot. If you need to use BigFix application, you can launch it manually from the "Start" menu or other shortcuts.

BigFix can automatically download and read technical support information provided by computer and software manufacturers and other technical support experts (published in the form of Fixlet? Messages) and can automatically check your computer for bugs, configuration conflicts, and security holes. Should only be started manually as it's a resource hog

this application should be started up when windows starts, because it protects your computer.

Ha! BigFix came installed in my PC, and starts with startup and begins searching for "fixlets". After watching it search the net for "fixlets" for about an hour... (it was running in my System Tray)... I opened BigFix to discover that it has not downloaded ANYTHING in the 6 mos that it's been running in my PC. But it is literally HOGGING resources. I'm about to disable it, and can think of no good reason as to why I shouldn't uninstall it!
