| BOINC should be allowed to run at startup because it has and extensive list of control options (preferences) which the user can set to tailor its usage of machine resources. I've run it for over ten years and experienced no interference with other programs--partly because its tasks run at below_normal priority, and its easy to pause and resume it as desired. Obviously it benefits its creators to make it as non-intrusive as possible, and they've succeeded admirably at it. | |||
