| Remote Procedure call depends on this service. So anything but disable should be fine; manual/auto w/ or w/o delay. There are [I didn't count but 8-12 services that depend on Remote procedure call. If you look through services, look at what services it depedns on, and especially which depend on the one you are considering shutting off. | |||

| Leave this ON!! This is a necessary process. Unless you have some sort of virus/rootkit or malware, etc..leave it be. If and ONLY if, then seek help as to how to go about SAFELY removing the infection without damaging the process or deleting it. Backup your computer AT LEAST once a month so if you do get an infection, you can reset. Simply stay away from sketchy websites/email links and unknown software and you should never get an infection unless you just happen to be an unlucky random target of crypto-mining. Then you're just SOL and should cut your losses and wipe your HDD/SSD and do a fresh install. BTW: COM and DCOM , etc. control background processes so Windows 10 can run efficiently. If you have an SSD with its most current firmware and software (Samsung Magician for example) and you have over provision enabled plus TRIM, then stop trying to get your computer to boot faster than it already is and messing with stuff you shouldn't even be messing with in the first place if you have to be asking about it. | |||
