OK....Looks like I'm the ice breaker....well if you have seen any of my other updater comments...I'll save you a lot of time..this is for A/V codecs updates..DUH..if your audio or video does not play something you'll be alerted that you need a specific codec to play your media...Go get that codec .. Shut this resource Monger Down...really. | |||

media player updater too download a/v codecs and updte automatically. Low memory usage, however definitely not needed. most media players will prompt for a codec download anyway. not needed as a start up process, use the link in your media player props instead. d-load plug ins or codecs | |||

I am always suspicious of an update pop-up message that misspells the name of the product. The update notice has been popping up at each startup today. The pop-up box title spells Essentials with a "c" instead of a "t," and, in my experience, is about the same as saying "I am a big fat piece of malware." I could be mistaken, but I am deleting this from my startup anyway. I downloaded the latest version from download.com, in case I need it down the road. | |||
