| This is necessary for Western Digital's SMARTWARE application to run routine maintenance and specificially, maintain scheduled backups to WD Cloud and Live series external hard drives. For SmartWare Backup Pro (purchased) users, this must be enabled if you want the take full advantage of the software's native, built-in incremental backups, file history-based change reversals, cloud backup services access such as connection to Dropbox, etc. | |||
