I have an older finance program on my system that does not start now thank to this updated pice of The finance program itself is not associated with any current url--and url's are the ONLY way that Java allows a user to add it to their "avoid blocking" list. Even though my program is now just a progrsm...I absolutely hate any corporate stupidity that attempts to control my user experience even though I have 6 levels of security already. Hey Java, how about consulting with users before you impose your stupid assinine rules???

While it isn't really necessary to run at system startup, the fact that you have it installed on your system, in part, indicates that there must be some important reason you have it. If you absolutely must run Java for some of your programs, at the very least, the update scheduler should be set to delayed---but not disabled! Otherwise you might forget that its disabled and proceed to use your programs as usual without realizing that a new version has been released. In that case you wouldn't be running the most secure version. If you are running Java it needs to be completed updated all the time in order to run securely! Unless Oracle issues a botched update which is verified, then you should always keep Java completely up to date!
