far as I know this is an app (just win2k, although I've seen the same in win98) to change the four undifferentiated removable-drive icons taken up by a standard (of one sort or another} by a multimedia card reader into ones that allow knowing which drive letters go to which slot. The win98 version I removed without problem, as the hardware driver is quite separate. On win2k I expect it's removal to be as little a problem. I'll take a look at the other card reader (a UCR-61 NioDio based USB 1.1 unit, vs the USB2 Frisby CR095 using the Alcor AU6368 chip) to see if it's win2k setup is alike. In any case, I had the reader working with stock, right-off-the-cd generic drivers long before I hunted up the driver CD. Nuke if you know where your reader slots are assigned (or like me, reassign them above the opticals in order of use. More information | |||

Yep, all removing it does is take the labels and icons off. not needed for anything but newbies. | |||
