This has nothing to do with with USB I beleave it has somthing to do with Torrents, I have edited msconfig so the file did not start and removed from c drive. I have had no issues with my usb drivers for a wide range of memory sticks and hard drives. To edit in on xp in the run box type msconfig click on startup then untick umonit and restart your system. For vista users simply type in the search filed after you have pressed start and type in msocnfig it should apear on the very top of the start menu. Do the same as xp users.

i took umonit.exe out of my pc. It came up on start up....in my case it was just one less thing to worry about when booting up.. I used a program called unlocker and deleted it from my xp windows... no need to run assortments of virus detectors...just for this...Download unlocker from a known site for free software

This was added after I added an internal multi card reader that plugs into a USB connection on the motherboard. I believe it's used to ensure that I dont have a lot of empty drives and only have a drive show up when I put something in the card reader.
