I recognize the KB1033 "Update file" as the older version of the "Did this user pay for this copy of the OS (usually 7, , as 8- 10 we were force fed and 7 is/was the closest thing to "sane" since XP, this proggy and the other "Validation proggy" (we call them apps now, sorry) look for "black"- "Not Genuine Microsoft product -YOU MAY BE A VICTIM OF COUNTERFEIT" nonsense. They take away your Desktop backround if you show up bad, which sometimes does happen to legitimate copies of the OS (Can you believe it?) They will nag you to go to Mickeysoft.com and ante up the noney for a "real" activation/registration code. Run it if you are SURE you bought and paid for your copy of Win 7 (Just can't see them making you pay for Windows 10. They should pay us for putting up with it). It's your call. There's a newer version of this out now, but I don't know the KBXXXXX numbers to watch for it. Usually if you try to kill it, it comes back anyway, like Cortana or anything else that Mickeysoft in their infinite wisdom have used to kill the PC. | |||
