The 'subst' command to assign a drive letter to a folder is forgotten by windows when you restart so Visual Subst has to re-apply it every reboot. Note that it will stay in the startup items even if you have not assigned any letters to folders - If you open Visual Subst and un-tick "Apply virtual drives on windows startup" the entry will be removed.

Used to mount folder in your PC as virtual drives. Keep it if you need to perform such an operation at system startup, otherwise it can be disabled.
