I've had it disabled all the time and WMP still found my XboX 360 when I connected it.

If you have a network that u share files with, this program makes it possible to find new users, and game consoles like ps3 and xbox 360.

I think this controls the file sharing for Media Player (Windows Media Player Network Sharing ConFiGurator). Once your xbox is able to talk to your media player and you turn this off, I think it will still work, but if you turn off your computer and restart it, the connection to the xbox might be lost. You'll then have to turn it back on or turn it on manually to reconnect.
